When playing with green beards I try to let them experience things Like show them what a Compressed Gold , Jadiz etc. look like. or what a cargo crate battery/helmet sounds like Let them do some stuff like event hacking etc. |
There is Friendly Fire and Fall Damage. Friendly Fire isn't as bad as I thought when first starting But Fall Damage can be unforgiven even on Hazard 1 (Lowest Difficulty). |
I Play by or try to either highest rank, or host buys the beer, if neither has the bulbs then the one with the most should pay for it. |
Each Dwarf is unique. So I tend to look at each as they have different "Jobs" to do when playing. Under the Dwarves (Classes) tab, I give tips and opinions on their "jobs". Since Each Dwarf is unique. It's suggested to get all of them Promoted once. To see which one you like best. |
To Promote a Dwarf, You will have to get to Level 25, then do a few missions, & then pay Credits/Minerals. The Credits/Minerals increase the higher promoted rank you go up. You do not have the play the same Dwarf you want to Promote. |
Communication is nice. Talk to your fellow Dwarves. Join Voice Chat first if you are in looking for group Discord. Like the Official DRG Discord . There is a Green Join button you can send to people From the Official DRG Discord . to set it up Follow the Pin Comments under The Channel LFG Steam. If the Join Button says Full/Game Ended and it's not You can click on the Host's profile icon to refresh it But like with everything Discord it can be bugged. Also remember if you're in voice chat Have some common courtesy Don't have such an Open Mic there is ways to get rid of noise. Discord has Krisp Noise Suppression. Under Voice & Video in Settings. |
When Hosting you can put it on Friends Only. This prevents randoms from joining but Allows people from Steam or Discord to join. |
Don't double dip from the Resupply Pod and as well as don't give away somebody else's Resupply. |
Communicate what builds you are bringing Especially for drillers on the team as Fire & Cyro can clash. |
Disbanding the team will refresh the beer. |

All Dwarves should Ping Bittergems / Compressed Gold and or until Management gets mad. before depositing. |
Speaking of which... Ping Mushrooms until Management gets mad. |
It's nice to Rock-N-Stone (Press "V") when beginning and ending missions or just whenever something good happens or whenever... |
Rock-N-Stone. |
When in the Drop Pod, Throw your cups in the ceiling aka the cup holders. |
Speaking of the Drop Pod, Slap the Dice. |
On Escort Duty missions it's nice to bring back Dotty's head. |
Beer/Dwarf Roulette
Basically a drinking game you can play in the Space Rig.
Rules:
Basically everybody gets a Beer, then you all take turns Saluting ([V] Default),
Then who every get's the voice line with the name [Karl] or you can play it where a word could be a Name in it . drinks the beer. The last person standing from drinking the beers wins. Since each beer has a different potency, depending on the beer you get you can have multiple chances. When i first played it we just drunk the beer Blackout Stout. So it's one drink and you are out! If you do play multiple chances I like the rule that only the person who speaks a Name/the Name Karl has to drink. So somebody can last the whole entire time and not drink. |
In my opinion Driller's Job/Playstyle is
As Driller is one I play the most
it annoys me when people barely use their Drills.
You have Drills for a reason...
I try to think what would be the easiest way to go
and what would be easier for my Teammates.
I try to drill pathways to places & just make things more accessible,
to like objectives, supply pods or to get up to/from places.
You can also tunnel under to team mates to revive
or even to kill/hack enemies.
As well as even out the terrain for the team so it's easier to move around.
You are expected to drill around and make space around things
like the Hacking Pod,Fuel Pods etc.
I am also always on the look out to get the buried Gems.
Like Bittergems,Compressed Gold, Jadiz, etc.
I am terrible at EPC mining.
so basically all my builds are built for damage.

In my opinion Engineer's Job/Playstyle is
As an Engineer you basically place Cheese/Platforms,
around and under minerals for mostly the Scout to get to.
You can also place the Platforms to plug holes in the roof or floor
and to get over stuff like Sticky Goo or Lava Craters.
You can also build shelter and pathways.
Speaking of Pathways you can path/funnel enemies
with the Bug Repellent Modification.
turrets - don't forget to place down your Turrets.
In game there's basically stop/break points
where you can set up your turrets,
like during Egg Hunt missions whenever you take out an egg
there's a chance to have a swarm incoming.
Speaking of swarms The SSG(Swarm Shredders) Grenades
are basically one of the best grenades in the game right now.
Triple Split Line causes two extra beams to appear.
itself will not cause more damage to be dealt,
however will increase the surface area for contact of each shot.
Increased surface area means each shot can potentially
deal the maximum number of damage because
of how long the beam stays in contact with each creature.
Increased surface area also means more contact for the shot to destroy armor.

In my opinion Gunner's Job/Playstyle is
Like always it depends what type of mission.
As a second main, I try to think like a bodyguard
as the last one in the Drop Pod
or last one in the Driller hole
to the Drop Pod etc.
I typically try to stay by the Mine Head or The Refinery while having Ziplines up
Trying to cover other Dwarves Depositing or Mining.
But if it's a break from bugs
I try to gather Minerals/Objective to get it done quicker.
Again the way i tend to play is to think of the team.
I like to try and frequently set up Ziplines which i think would be useful.
like in Dreadnoughts fights and fighting in spawn/start room
I try to cross them and have them high enough to dangle above.

In my opinion Scout's Job/Playstyle is
to light up the caves with his flare gun regularly,
the one mainly gathering minerals.
At the very least hard to reach ones.
to be agile enough to escape death
and to be the team medic when the team eventually goes down.
Other's suggest as well to look for High-Priority targets.
Like Mactera, Stingtails, Septic Spreaders,
Since I don't play Scout all that much,
as it's mainly single-target damage and you have to be agile,
I am not really sure of the builds, just things I like.
I like his Grenade Voltaic Stun Sweeper and the Cyro grenade.

Whether it be in Voice or not Make sure everybody is Ready before pushing buttons to start things. In chat [R] means Ready. Also it could be taken that somebody is ready if they Rock-N-Stone. ([V] Default) |
There is a compass on the top center of the screen. You might have to turn it on in the settings. I am surprised a lot people didn't know this even Grey Beards. |
Pressing [Space] when looking at the Terrain Scanner, fixes your character into the direction you're looking at. Useful when Drilling. You can also just rotate/zoom in & out with the Terrain Scanner Map. Apparently some did not know this. |
Should Ping with the Laser Pointer [CTRL] Boss Enemies often for the Team. |
When going into a new location look up for Cave Leeches. |
If you go down, you can use your camera to help your Teammates! Use this time to call out enemies, find objects, health etc. Also when you get revived you'll get up facing the direction you was looking. |
You can use a Dwarf's head to bounce off of to prevent Fall Damage. |
When falling from heights You can hold [E] to grab a hold of things like the Gunner's Ziplines or Pipelines. |
You can help out Engineers by Helping build their turrets. Also other Engineers can Refill each others turrets. |
When Frozen you can Pickaxe/Power Attack/ a Dwarf or set them on fire to free them. |
Spider Webs To get rid of them you either use Driller's Axes, Fire, or Driller's C4 Although C4 seems totally Impractical. |
You can throw the heavy objects like the Enor Pearl , Jadiz, etc. basically anything you can carry to go faster. |
Collect all throwable items into a pile like Enor Pearls,Gunk Seeds, etc. so you can bring Molly to one spot and deposit all at once. |
The Glyphid Praetorian , Glyphid Oppressor release a Green Death Gas which can be lit on fire with any Heat Source to get rid of it but it will explode so watch out. |
When Mining Minerals you should keep minining So the minerals can be already mined or They can fall down from high places So your fellow dwarves can pick them up Also don't have to come back and mine You can just pick them up easier when coming back. |
If you make a mistake with the Rock Cracker Pods Cables you can pickaxe them break to redo them. |
Jet/Hover Boots can catch things on fire When you Hover things like enemies. |
When cleaning up a Lithophage Outbreak you will want to Foam everything at once and then Vacuum the area. This way you won't have to deal with multi waves spawning from the area. |
When being yoinked by the Glyphid Stingtail and it's a steep fall try to aim for it's body to land on it, to prevent fall damage. Seems to work with any large bug like the Praetorians . |
You can hit or shoot the Glow Trees Bulbs to light up the area. Hitting all five (5) bulbs will make the tree light up permanently. |
Two(2) batteries will spawn within 30 meters of the Cargo Crate in any direction, so not necessarily in the same room. The batteries emit a beeping sound to be found easier. While holding a Battery it will beep faster the closer the crate is. If already opened new players joining can't get it. Same with Helmet/Lost Equipment/Pack. |
At the end of a mission Follow the Driller! Unless you're a Scout, you can just do Scout things. |
At the end of the mission if whoever gets to the Drop Pod first Should Ping the Drop Pod at the end. Especially helps the Driller know where to drill. |
Calling down no Resupply Pods at all and spending every bit of Nitra on resupplies will have the same result as far as minerals mined are concerned. |
You have to deposit mission objectives & Carryable Gems for it to count. All minerals/beer materials should count if you hold onto them at the end. Example: If you have 650 Gold and you are carrying 40, you should have 690 at the end. (Nice!) |
At the end of the mission when in the Drop Pod, theres a green zone all have to step back in there for the Drop Pod to leave and mission end. Unless all other Dwarves are down. |
If a dwarf is down and has Iron Will left The Drop pod won't leave until either Iron Will is used & finishes Or the the timer is up. |

Glyphid Brood Nexus | |
---|---|
You can freeze it to prevent it from unleashing Spawns on death. You can stand on top of it and the bugs on the ground won't climb and hit you. |
|
Glyphid Bulk Detonator |
|
You can freeze the Normal Bulk Detonator to prevent them from exploding & destroying the area. When frozen & on death it does produce an explosion but just a massive knockback similar to at the end of Industrial Sabotage. If you really wanted to can freeze the Bulk Crassus as well... You won't get any gold though... The Unknown Horror can be stunned and slowed down with Electricity. |
|
Glyphid Exploder |
|
You can freeze, melt, or shoot/melee them in the face, to prevent them from exploding. You can try and use their explosions to kill other bugs |
|
Korlok Tyrant Weed |
|
The Korlok's opened bud is not a weakpoint. It will not benefit from any weakpoint damage or other benefits. Driller can use their drills to Drill the Korlok Core underneath. Does pretty decent damage to it. When on fire the Sprout's cannot attack. Doretta is able to destroy a Tyrant-Weed if she runs it over, even if it is closed. |
|
Naedocyte Breeder | Rockpox Breeder |
|
If you freeze them they will die right away. |
|
Q'ronar Shellbacks |
|
Shellbacks will ignore the Gunner's shield and roll straight through it. Even though can't be frozen It will still get the bonus damage from freezing. Q'Ronar Younglings are found exclusively in the Salt Pits biome. |
|

|
There is a number of big swarms for an Egg mined. 4 Eggs - 1 of the 4 Eggs causes a big swarm. 6 Eggs - 2 of the 6 Eggs causes a big swarm. 8 Eggs - 3 of the 8 Eggs causes a big swarm. |
On Hazard 5 there is the 2 minutes per egg rule. because of how Egg Hunt missions spawn Nitra, As Egg hunt has slightly less nitra spawns than the rest of the mission types. So Sticking to 2 minutes per egg (i.e. pulling an egg every two minutes). This allows you to deal with the previous spawns, before getting more. A good team can do 1 minute per egg. |
|
|
When a Dreadnoughts spawns big swarms shouldn't spawn. But smaller waves will occasionally spawn. The Swarmer Modifier will keep spawning the little bastards. |
Usually Spawn/Starting area is a good area to fight. |
You can't have the same Dreadnought(s) spawn from the eggs back to back. But you can have 2 of the same spawn on a 3 count. So on a 3 Egg mission, You can have OG Dread, Twins, OG Dread but cannot be OG Dread, OG Dread, Twins. |
Start freezing the Dreadnoughts like quarter or less of their shield is down, not at full. Also want to freeze it when the shield is broken and back is open. |
|
|
Not even a tip but I had a Mandela Effect of the names I thought it was Dreadnaughts not Dreadnoughts. |
|
The amount of times the Drilldozer will need to be refueled depends on the mission length.
|
||||||||||||||||||||
- It goes faster when more dwarves on it - Repairing with multiple people doesn't go faster. - Fully repairing (When the health indicator shows white, not red), Doretta briefly becomes invulnerable to all damage (~2 seconds) |
||||||||||||||||||||
At the second stage of the Ommoran Heartstone the Engineer can make a Platform Bridge over the Drilldozer to protect from the slamming rocks. You can start it early but don't go over too much or it will be destroyed at the end of the stage |
||||||||||||||||||||
I classify this as an Exploit and not Strategy like a Roof. When the laser beam pillars spawn the Engineer can bury Doretta's head in platforms This prevents the laser beam pillars from spawning again. |
||||||||||||||||||||
When the laser beam pillars spawn, The Scout can Zipline and pickaxe the tips and the Engineer can help with platforms. The Driller can use his drills to break them down. The Gunner can use his weapons to gun them down, like Auto-Cannon, Mini Gun, or Rockets. |
||||||||||||||||||||
At the end of Escort Duty missions, you can try to go back to the start to hopefully bring the Drop Pod closer to the others. Usually send the Scout since he should be the fastest. For some reason this works like all the time when I do it but people say they do this and it ends up by them and I seen it happen. |

Be prepared for bots, and Fire works the best against them. |
The Driller can dig above the Caretaker to throw C4 ontop of the Caretaker. If you take 2,3, or 4 C4 you will basically use all of them each Shieled (Yellow Health Bar) stage. So The Driller will need a resupply for himself. |
The Driller can make tunnels/bunkers to help hide in and move around. |
The Engineer can make Platform Towers to help hide behind. |
|
|
|
The mule isn't present on this mission. |
Swarms become never ending, so want to try to spend less than 15 minutes in the mission. On Hazard 5, the infinite scaling kicks in at 12 minutes, it becomes constant at 15, and unplayable at 20. |
As bugs can attack through the metal mesh of the Mine Head, it's not recommended to fight on it. But you can try and fight around it because as it has Turrets but the turrets have limited ammo. |
Dwarves are instantly downed by the Mine Head if it lands on top of them, like the Resupply Pods. |
|
|
|
Broken Resupply Pods can be found. Which can be repaired After repairing them, they have a chance to give 0 to 2 resupply racks and up to 2 can be generated per mission They appear almost completely buried in the ground, with only a small portion sticking out. Directly above them is a tunnel created by the resupply originally dropping in, making those resupply pods highly noticeable thanks to the Terrain Scanner. |
Repairing a Mini M.U.L.E. will reward the team with between 40-60 Nitra and 40-60 Gold. |
Coming within 2 meters of a Mini M.U.L.E. for the first time will trigger a large wave of enemies after 12 to 30 seconds. Another, smaller wave of enemies will spawn when one of the legs that are found near each Mini M.U.L.E. is dug out. This leg is picked randomly. |
When defending the Black Box or Fuel Lines the Driller can drill out the walls in like a crescent shape so the barrier fits and so you can move around much better |
Also the Engineer can use their Platforms to platform above the defending area with the Repellant Additive modification, to help funnel bugs. |
When defending the Black Box or Fuel Lines and you call a Resupply Pod, you can dig it down to stay out of your way. |
|
|
Deep Dives Hazard difficulty are Deep Dive - 3, 3.5, 3.5 Elite Deep Dive - 4.5, 5, 5.5 |
Active Perks will reset between missions/stages, such as Field Medic or Iron Will . You will be able to use the active abilities multiple times during the dive. |
When playing solo, Bosco's revive charges will be reset between missions. |
